This book introduces the rich heritage of the Sikhs in Punjab and other parts of the world through Sikh Coins and Sikh Tokens with actual photographs included. From the very first known coins issued by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in 1711, to the last Sikh Coins issued by Maharaja Duleep Singh in early 1849, one can follow the rise and fall of the Sikh Empire. Gold Mohurs, Silver Rupees and Copper Paisas are well documented, with numerous unlisted types and varieties. Also included are known Gurdwara Tokens issued from 1700 – 2022, and are being recorded for the very first time in this publication. The research for this book first started in the 1960’s and concluded in 2022.
Since the publication of the book, many new Sikh Coin varieties have been observed and new Temple Tokens have been issued. As new information becomes available, I will update this website along with the appropriate reference numbers. The book has been published by Spink, London and has about 604 pages.
